Your Minority Report – by Chris Cade

A while back I was staring down a case of “writers block,” so in unlikely form, I turned on the TV to see what was on…

I watch almost no TV, and it was after 11pm, so part of me knew this was a “bad idea.” After all, my son would probably be waking me up at 6:30am and if I watched a movie, I'd be up until 1am at the earliest. If I finished the movie, I was guaranteed to be exhausted the next day.

As I'm skimming the guide to see what's on, I find myself drawn to the movie Minority Report. I'd seen it many years ago, and I didn't remember what it was about. Still, I felt drawn to it so I put my laptop away and just watched.

As I watched Minority Report, I was reminded of my explorations with manifesting and many of the questions and mystery surrounding the topic.

In case you're not familiar with the movie, or haven't seen it in a while, here's the basic synopsis:

In Washington DC, a team of 3 psychics are used to foresee murders before they happen. The Precrime team then arrests the perpetrators before the victims are murdered. Consequently, murders in Washington DC during the previous 6 years were reduced to zero.

The system is perfect.

It ALWAYS works.

Then in a twist of fate, the Chief of the Precrime police team is fated to be…

A perpetrator.

“They always run,” he used to say about the perpetrators.

Now he's the one running.

Without spoiling the movie, what I will say is that the rest of the movie looks at the relationship between predetermination (fate / destiny) and free will. It asks the question: if things are predetermined, then do we even have free will?

Some people believe that everything is predecided for us, and we're merely actors or puppets in this play of life. There are no accidents. No coincidences.

Others believe that we have completely free will. That our choices are ours. Coincidences are merely coincidences.

There's also people who believe that some things are fated, while others are not.

Some people say that while we can't control what happens to us, and yet we still have free will in how we respond to what happens to us.

And others believe that the Law of Attraction is in 100% constant effect, even to the point to suggest that every single experience of our lives is something we attracted to us. In other words, it was fated… as a consequence of our free will decisions.

I'm not here to give you an answer.

I'd rather give you more questions. 🙂

Now to circle back to the movie, Minority Report

As I mentioned, the system is perfect and it always works. However, as the movie progresses, the main character learns that in very rare circumstances, there is a “Minority Report.” This Minority Report occurs when the 1 most powerful of the 3 psychics predicts a different outcome than the other two predictions.

In other words, the Minority Report represents what is possible in rare situations where free will is present (regardless of whether free will is exercised). It also represents an opportunity in your life.

Imagine you could manifest anything you want in your life. Anything at all. What would it look like?

That's your personal Minority Report.

It's the opportunity presented to you between what has been predetermined for your future by your previous actions. It's what your future can look like if you decide to exercise free will…

And step beyond your previously programmed habits and thought patterns.

Or phrased another way:

How good can you imagine your life becoming?

What about great? Even extraordinary beyond your wildest imagination?
