Access the Medicine Within Through Medical Qigong – Free Class with Roger Jahnke
We’ve become remarkably skilled at treating disease, yet many of us were never taught how to actively cultivate health. Medical Qigong offers a different starting point: learning how movement, breath, awareness, and self-care practices can help you work more intentionally with your own MindBody system.
Dr. Roger Jahnke, OMD, has spent decades bridging classical Chinese medicine and modern mind-body practice. In this free event, he’ll introduce a practical four-dimensional approach to Medical Qigong that brings together gentle movement, conscious breathing, focused awareness, and therapeutic self-massage.
You won’t only hear the ideas explained. Roger will also guide you through a simple Medical Qigong practice so you can experience how these four dimensions come together in the body and explore a more active relationship with vitality, resilience, and wellbeing.
The central invitation is simple: health is not only something to think about when something goes wrong. This session explores how everyday practice can become a way of cultivating the internal conditions associated with repair, renewal, and resilience.
Why Attend “Medical Qigong: Activate Your Body’s Innate Healing Intelligence”

Many wellness conversations begin after a problem appears, but Roger invites you to consider a different question: How can you actively cultivate health before everything becomes about fixing what has gone wrong? Medical Qigong approaches wellbeing as an ongoing practice that engages movement, breath, attention, and self-care.
Stress and modern routines can make it difficult to feel connected to the body’s natural capacities for repair, renewal, and resilience. Roger’s four-dimensional framework gives you a clear way to explore how gentle physical practice, conscious breathing, focused awareness, and therapeutic self-massage can work together.
Roger has spent more than 40 years helping bridge classical Chinese medicine with modern science and mind-body practice. His teaching is especially useful if you want an approach that is experiential as well as conceptual, because the session includes a guided practice rather than asking you to understand Medical Qigong only as an idea.
What You’ll Learn
We’ll begin with Roger’s distinction between treating disease and actively cultivating health, so you can explore Medical Qigong as a practice for working with the body’s own capacities for balance, repair, renewal, and resilience. You’ll also see why this perspective has remained meaningful to healers, physicians, wellness practitioners, and students of mind-body practice.
From there, you’ll be introduced to the four dimensions Roger uses in Medical Qigong — movement, breath, awareness, and self-massage — which means the practice can be understood as an integrated system rather than a collection of isolated techniques. Along the way, he’ll connect these dimensions with practical ways of cultivating greater vitality and wellbeing.
You’ll then be guided through a simple Medical Qigong practice, so the principles become something you can experience directly in your own body. And then Roger will place that experience in a broader context, including how Qigong can deepen a personal practice, support professional healing work, and prepare those who feel called to teach others.
- Why cultivating health is a different orientation from waiting until disease or imbalance demands attention
- How Roger’s four dimensions of Medical Qigong bring together breath, movement, awareness, and self-massage
- What chronic stress can mean for the conditions that support the body’s natural repair and renewal processes
- How gentle movement can become part of a broader mind-body approach to vitality and resilience
- Why conscious breathing is treated as a central dimension rather than an afterthought
- How focused awareness helps connect intention with physical practice
- The role therapeutic self-massage plays within Roger’s Medical Qigong framework
- What it is like to put the four dimensions together in a guided Medical Qigong practice
- How Medical Qigong can enrich a personal practice, professional healing work, or a path toward teaching others

“Dr. Jahnke trained me to move my practice into the flow of the day instead of taking a specific time out. For example, to be doing the Three Treasures waiting in line or on the phone. This technique has had a very big impact on my personal stress level and makes me feel like I am actually practicing my health throughout the day as a healing being instead of as a health task.”
“Roger Jahnke… brings ancient Eastern wisdom and modalities into our hectic Western lives.”
