Even with a sincere spiritual practice, modern life can leave you mentally crowded, emotionally stretched, or longing for a more immediate sense of the Divine. When the pace around you is relentless, it can be difficult to hear the quieter wisdom of the heart.

The Sufi path of remembrance offers a different starting point. Rather than adding more spiritual effort, it invites you to return to what is already here — breath, heartbeat, presence, nature, and the sacredness woven through ordinary life.

Grandmother Devi Tide will share timeless Sufi practices of invocation, sacred song, shared silence, and contemplative meditation. She’ll also guide you through The Living Tree of Remembrance, a heart-centered practice for exploring your connection with the Earth, the living web of creation, and the Divine Presence within and around you.

The session invites you to experience spiritual remembrance as something lived rather than merely understood. Through stillness, reflection, poetry, breath, and inner listening, you’ll explore how everyday moments can become invitations to reconnect with what matters most.

Why Attend “The Sufi Path to Inner Peace”

The Sufi Path to Inner Peace with Grandmother Devi Tide

Mental busyness, emotional stress, compassion fatigue, and the sheer pace of everyday life can make spiritual connection feel distant even when your practice matters deeply to you. This event explores remembrance as a way of returning attention to the sacred presence available in the midst of ordinary life rather than treating peace as something you must struggle to reach.

Sufi contemplative practice places direct experience at the center, using breath, invocation, sacred song, silence, poetry, and attentive presence as doorways into a deeper relationship with the Divine. Grandmother Devi’s approach emphasizes simple practices that can accompany daily life, so remembrance becomes more than an idea reserved for formal spiritual moments.

Grandmother Devi has traveled internationally with elders, healers, and wisdom keepers and has served as Head of the Sufi Healing Order in North America since 1999. Her experience brings together Sufi healing and meditative practices, the wisdom of the natural world, and a lifelong commitment to cultivating wholeness, compassion, belonging, and connection with all life.

What You’ll Learn

We’ll begin with the Sufi understanding of remembrance as a living return to the present moment, so you can explore how breath, heartbeat, and awareness become part of a contemplative relationship with the Divine. Rather than treating remembrance as simply recalling something from the past, Grandmother Devi will invite you into a practice of recognizing sacred presence here and now.

From there, you’ll be guided through The Living Tree of Remembrance, which uses the imagery of roots extending into the Earth and light flowing through existence to deepen your awareness of belonging within the living web of creation. You’ll explore this heart-centered meditation alongside invocation, sacred song, and shared silence, so the teachings can be encountered experientially rather than only intellectually.

Along the way, Grandmother Devi will draw on the poetry of Rumi and Hafiz and on Sufi approaches to inner listening, gratitude, compassion, and presence. The emphasis remains practical, which means the practices are connected with ordinary moments in nature, breathing, listening, and daily life rather than being limited to formal spiritual occasions.

Here’s just a little bit of what you’ll learn:
  • Why Sufi remembrance is a living practice of returning to the present moment
  • How The Living Tree of Remembrance uses the heart, Earth, and light as contemplative anchors
  • Ways every breath and heartbeat can become part of an everyday spiritual practice
  • How invocation, sacred song, and shared silence can support remembrance
  • Why nature can become an invitation to reconnect with the sacredness of life
  • How the poetry of Rumi and Hafiz can open imagination, listening, and compassion
  • What it means to experience yourself as part of the living web of creation
  • How inner listening relates to presence and a deeper relationship with the Divine
  • Why gratitude and compassion are woven into this heart-centered approach
  • Simple ways to carry contemplative remembrance into ordinary moments after the event

What does remembrance mean in this Sufi teaching?
Remembrance is approached as more than recalling the past. It is a living practice of returning to the present moment and recognizing the Divine Presence through breath, heartbeat, nature, silence, and attentive awareness.

How are breath and heartbeat used as contemplative practice?
Grandmother Devi will explore how every breath and heartbeat can become a living teacher and an invitation to return to presence. This allows ordinary moments to become part of a continuing contemplative practice.

What role do invocation, sacred song, and shared silence play?
Grandmother Devi presents invocation, sacred song, and shared silence as everyday companions for remembrance rather than practices limited to formal spiritual occasions. They are used during the event to support presence, gratitude, inner listening, and connection.

How does nature fit into the practice?
Nature is central to the event’s understanding of belonging within the living web of creation. The Living Tree of Remembrance uses images of roots, Earth, light, and living connection, while everyday moments in nature become opportunities for remembrance.

Will Rumi and Hafiz be part of the teaching?
Yes. Grandmother Devi will draw on the sacred poetry of Rumi and Hafiz as part of the contemplative exploration, including how poetry can open imagination, soften the heart, and invite deeper listening.

How does Grandmother Devi’s Sufi background inform the event?
Grandmother Devi has served as Head of the Sufi Healing Order in North America since 1999 and is a murid of the universalist teaching of the Inayatiyya Sufis of India and North America. How can these practices be brought into daily life?
The event emphasizes remembrance through ordinary experiences such as breathing, noticing your heartbeat, listening inwardly, spending time in nature, invoking the sacred, singing, and sharing silence. These practices are offered as ways to make contemplation part of everyday life rather than something reserved for special occasions.
