The Dharma of Choice – Free Class with Nitesh Gor
Every decision sets something in motion, yet even thoughtful choices can leave you wondering why you said yes when you wanted to say no, pursued something that felt empty, or faced consequences you never expected. Looking more closely at what drives a choice can reveal patterns that ordinary pros-and-cons thinking may miss.
Nitesh Gor, OBE, offers a practical framework drawn from Vedic wisdom and the Bhagavad Gita for examining the forces that influence how you choose. Through the Three Modes of Ignorance, Passion, and Goodness, you’ll explore how changing states of consciousness can shape decisions in work, leadership, relationships, ambition, service, and spiritual life.
Rather than asking only whether a decision feels right in the moment, Nitesh invites you to consider two deeper questions: what is motivating the choice, and what are its far-reaching consequences? This perspective can help you examine not just what you decide, but the direction and ripple effects that decision may create.
You’ll also be guided through a reflective process using a real decision you’re facing now, giving you an experiential way to explore motivation, outcome, and dharma. The session brings philosophical depth into everyday life without asking you to step away from ambition, leadership, or meaningful worldly engagement.
Why Attend “Dharma of Choice”

Decisions are rarely shaped by logic alone. Urgency, habit, ambition, fear, social pressure, good intentions, and unconscious patterns can all influence what feels like the obvious choice in the moment, which is why understanding motivation matters as much as evaluating the decision itself.
Nitesh introduces the Three Modes — Ignorance, Passion, and Goodness — as dynamic states of consciousness rather than fixed personality types. This framework offers a way to recognize why the same person can act from integrity in one situation and self-interest or unconscious compliance in another.
His perspective brings Vedic philosophy into contact with real-world leadership, education, commerce, relationships, and personal responsibility. As a social entrepreneur, educator, author, former business leader, and founder of the Avanti schools, Nitesh draws on experience applying spiritual principles in practical settings rather than treating dharma as an abstract idea.
What You’ll Learn
We’ll begin with the Three Modes from the Bhagavad Gita, so you can explore how Ignorance, Passion, and Goodness may influence choices without treating them as permanent labels. You’ll look at these modes as shifting states that can affect how you think, communicate, lead, serve, invest, and respond to opportunity.
You’ll then examine two practical diagnostic questions — what is motivating this choice, and what is its far-reaching outcome — so that decision-making becomes more than a search for what feels right in the moment. Along the way, Nitesh will explore why unconscious compliance can be mistaken for ignorance and why the energy of Passion can sometimes feel productive while moving you away from deeper alignment.
From there, you’ll work with a real decision you’re facing through guided reflection and quiet contemplation, which means the framework becomes something you can apply rather than simply understand intellectually. The session connects dharma with everyday life, so questions of integrity, purpose, leadership, success, and spiritual awareness can be considered together.
