Don’t Shrink Your Goals During A Recession – Guest Post by Grant Cardone

There’s a huge misconception that you must contract during a recession.

I don’t believe that’s true.  In fact, contracting is the last thing you should be thinking about right now.

Of course, it doesn’t help when whale businesses – like Meta, Amazon, and Morgan Stanley – start slashing headcount.

Or when CEOs like Elon Musk say they have “a super bad feeling” about the economy.

If you weren’t already worried about the sky caving in…  I wouldn’t blame you for getting the jitters today.

But trust me.

Now is not the time for shrinking your goals.  Now is the time for massive expansion.

Just last quarter, my team and I closed a landmark real estate deal in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Our plans for the property?

To fill it with 10X employees as we explode our team.

You might think I’m crazy.  But here’s how I see it:

Right now, Corporate America is making all the wrong moves by shrinking their goals.

I think they know it too.

Trouble is, Big Businesses aren’t free to seize opportunities like you and me.

Imagine these situations:

An opportunity emerges to place an advertising campaign at a heavily-discounted rate.  The Chief Marketing Officer is desperate to take advantage.

The board disapproves. So, no ad campaign.

A competitor cuts headcount and dumps hundreds of talented employees into the job market.  The Head of HR wants to scoop up that talent.

Shareholders don’t like it.  So, no new hires.

Sure, you might not be thinking about advertising right now.

And hiring employees might be the last thing on your mind.

But there’s a reason why I’m sharing these scenarios.

It’s because — right now — you and I are at a massive advantage over most big businesses.

Your success likely does not depend on getting the green light from board members and shareholders.

Your success depends on just two simple factors:

  • Factor #1 – Your commitment to doing whatever it takes to expand your business.
  • Factor #2 – Gaining access to the right information – so you can thrive in any economy.

Now, as much as I might want to… I can’t force commitment on you.  You have to decide that for yourself.

But when it comes to giving you the right information… that is something I can do.
